About us
Our team — Jaguars — brings that same sensibility to every project, whether we're installing a single painting in a Manhattan apartment, restoring a Baccarat chandelier in a Westchester estate, painting a mural from scaffold to final stroke, or sitting with a fellow artist at the beginning of something new.
Maritza Alvarez is a Colombian visual artist with over 20 years of experience across Bogotá's cultural scene and New York's gallery world. She co-founded creative spaces in Bogotá, managed a Latin American art gallery in New York, and has spent her career at the intersection of art-making and art stewardship. She leads JaguArtLab's creative vision, client relationships, and art direction.
JR is a sculptor and fabricator with over 25 years of experience working with renowned artists and studios across New York City. His background spans fine arts, construction, and luxury craft — a combination that makes him equally at home executing delicate art installations and leading complex, large-scale productions. Known for his exceptional attention to detail and his instinct for creative problem-solving, JR brings both technical precision and an artist's sensibility to his missions
Together, they lead a multidisciplinary team!
We named ourselves after the jaguar — the ancestral guardian of sacred spaces in pre-Columbian culture. — powerful, precise, and deeply attuned to what it protected.
That is the spirit we bring to every project.
Who are Jaguars:
We are artists ourselves. Multidisciplinary by nature, we have worked closely with artists across every stage of the creative journey, from the earliest sparks of the process through final execution and installation.
Each member of our team brings a wealth of experience building and fabricating art pieces, along with a wonderful gift for thinking outside the box and finding creative solutions. And when a project calls for something beyond our own hands, we draw on a trusted network of specialised professionals to bring any vision to life - Co-Creation.
When you work with a Jaguar, you're not hiring a pair of hands. You're bringing in a creative partner who truly speaks the language of art.

Where are we going
JaguArtLab is more than a service. It is a growing creative ecosystem rooted in the belief that art deserves guardians who are also creators.
We are building toward a future that includes a permanent home — a multifunctional headquarters with art studios, climate-controlled collection storage, a gallery space, and a platform that connects artists, collectors, and designers in ways the industry has never seen before.
